Disaster Management – Cyclone Fani Relief
Relief and rescue operations carried out in severely affected areas following Cyclone Fani, with volunteer teams evacuating people and distributing essential supplies.
About This Event
Following Cyclone Fani, one of the most devastating cyclones to hit Odisha, relief and rescue operations were carried out in severely affected areas of Nimapara Block, Puri District. A dedicated team of GUBS volunteers evacuated vulnerable people, distributed essential supplies including food, water, and clothing, and supported temporary shelter and emergency healthcare services.
The relief operations focused on the villages of Bamanal, Ninigao, and Olomara, which were among the worst-hit areas. Volunteers worked tirelessly to reach affected families, assess damage, and provide immediate assistance to those who had lost their homes and livelihoods.
This response demonstrated GUBS's commitment to community welfare beyond its regular programs, showcasing the organization's ability to mobilize resources and volunteers during times of crisis.
